Personal Statement/My Path
My early training and constant curiosity have led me to work with people from all walks of life. With roots in rural Maine, then training in a city like Zürich, the contrasts have provided good balance.
Practice in the medical field gave me deep respect for people who live with chronic illness, face issues of late life, and meet the demands of care-giving. Having a natural affinity for the big questions of life, my Hospice work further supported an unshakable joy in the goodness of simply being alive.
Compassion for people who suffer with various forms of addiction – alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, work-a-holism – led to my personally mentoring, as well as treating, those in recovery for over twenty years.
A creative process of some sort is many times the vehicle for healing and health. My Art education and ongoing crafts work serve well as a frame of reference. Parenting along with many years in business, provide essential practical grounding.
It all works together in the analytical setting. |
